There is a clear divide between those who know and those that endlessly seek the newest strategy and techniques by searching the Internet, buying new tools and reading and posting to SEO forums for answers to their never ending quest for that elusive master key to online success.

It can be justas hard or even harder! As if things weren't difficult enough, Googlegives people an extra hurdle which is sometimes called the "sandbox".
Whenyou launch a new site, Google doesn't trust it at all. Even if the BBClaunched a new site it would start off without any trust and wouldreceive very little traffic. As the site attracts links from other sites, it gradually earns enoughtrust to start ranking for some long tail search terms. Think of linksas 'votes' that tell the Search Engines what your site is about andthat it is trustworthy.
You are probably thinking that this is a heavy move by Google, but withthe pure volume of sites being launched it needs to have some methodof making sure only the really good ones reach the top.
